Magic coins are a currency that you can use with your kids in exchange for homework, fulfilling educational activities. Ge Academy and Learn Online assign these coins by default, but you can personalize the entire reward system to your preferences and pedagogical methods as a parent or educator.
Let’s see how this works.
First, enter the “Parental Control”.
Then enter “No Work – No Play”.
You’ll see an introduction that explains what this feature does. Click “Next”.
On the next step, you can enable automatic coin generation from education programs like Ge Academy or Learn Online. Each exercise completed will award coins. Below, you can choose which programs will require coins to open and select the price. Then click “Next”.
On the next step, you can actually award points yourself. This feature is always available. For good behavior or house chores, simply add by 10 coins at a time by pressing “+”, subtract by pressing “-“ if your kid has been mischievous. You can also click on the number of coins and enter the new amount to be placed on the Piggy Bank. You can still specify requirements for the entertainment programs on this menu, but it’s the same. See Magic Tunes is already set to only open with coins.
For now click “Finish”. You can check timed restrictions for programs and computer use later on the help topic for Computer Time Limits and Program Timelimits.
Now let’s see what happens with Magic Tunes.
First, go to the taskbar and click the “Piggy Bank” icon.
You’ll be shown how many coins your child has in stock.
Magic Tunes was set to open with 20 coins. When you click on it, your child will see this notification:
